Alumni Services

Whether you just graduated or received your CSULB degree many years ago, the Career Development Center (CDC) can assist you with your career transition and job search by providing access to career assessments, counseling, online job boards and networking opportunities with employers.

Recent Graduates

Recent CSULB graduates are alumni with a degree award date within the last 12 months. Recent CSULB graduates have free access to CDC services during that 12 month period.

Services

  • CareerLINK (BeachLink) Jobs and NACElink Online Job Boards: Access to online job postings
  • On-Campus Interview (OCI) Program: Interview with visiting employers through OCI. This service is only available for graduates of CSULB. OCI is a program designed, primarily to assist graduating seniors; however, there may be opportunities slated for alumni as well, on a limited basis. Alumni eligibility is determined by the specific employer posting the opportunity.
  • Career Counseling: Individual appointments with a career counselor assist you with your career transition and job search strategy. Career counselors assist in clarifying values, interests, skills, and making a career decision. Includes career assessments if needed.
  • Drop-in Advising: Career advisors are provided on a first-come, first served basis for questions that can be answered in 10 - 15 minutes, during posted hours only.
  • Career Resource Library: Access information on occupations, job descriptions, companies, labor market trends, salary information, job postings, and many online resources. No checkout of materials.
  • Workshops: Such as resume writing, interviewing techniques, job search and networking, or applying to graduate and professional schools.
  • Employer Information Sessions: Visiting employers present company information and promote current job openings.
  • Job Fairs: Meet with a large number of employers, in one setting, who are specifically seeking CSULB students and alumni for the purpose of employment.

Alumni Subscription Fees

Alumni, with a degree award date beyond 12 months can use the Career Development Center services by purchasing an annual subscription. Career Development Center services are not included in the Alumni Association fee.

Online Job Board Access - Annual Subscription Fee: $35

This subscription only includes online services.

Full Service Annual Subscription Fee: $125

This subscription includes online services and career development services.

Eligibility Requirements

  • CSULB Alumni are eligible for CDC services and programs.
  • Other CSU campuses alumni, outside of a 50 mile radius, can also purchase a subscription
    • Alumni from other CSU campuses do not qualify for this year of free service
    • A letter of reciprocity from the Director of the Career Center on their home campus
